In July, Indigo Bridge helped local author and UNL professor Joy Castro celebrate the release of her thriller “Hell or High Water”. It was a fantastic, fun party with lots of people to offer her congratulations. Everyone had snacks, drinks and the chance to chat with Joy while getting copies of their book signed.
We also got four batches of the world’s tastiest flan. It is directly mentioned in the novel, and comes from Joy’s own grandmother – a secret family recipe. Her new book, a collection of personal essays that follows her 2005 memoir “The Truth Book” doesn’t mention flan even once.
Still, we were persistent. She has agreed to come back to Indigo, sign more books and is once again bringing flan. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 8th from 6-7 p.m. for another great party! Books will be available to purchase Saturday morning and through the event.
But seriously, there is going to be delicious, delicious flan.
