Our desire to open a bookstore in downtown Lincoln grew out of a simple idea for bilingual story time. The impact of reading on a child’s life is profound, and we knew that many Latino families have settled in Lincoln. English as a Second Language learners continue to increase in number and languages within Lincoln Public Schools. We have begun to expand the languages available for our Saturday Bilingual story times to include Karen and Arabic. Parents of primarily English speaking children can also give their families early opportunities to encounter new language skills with bilingual story time.
All are welcome every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event includes a mix of games or music and crafts so each time is fun and unique!
To help keep warm in the Winter, Indigo only has morning story times in January and February. Watch for news of the evening return in March.
Every Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. we have a story time session that includes music or games and crafts. These story times will largely be in English with additional languages being featured when volunteers are available. They will be fun in any language!
